At Kicks For A Kause, our mission is to provide soccer equipment to children and families around the world who do not have proper access to such resources on their own. Further, we strive to provide equal opportunities for both males and females to encourage them to continue playing the game we love. So far, we have been able to change the lives of children in 5 different countries and 3 different continents. With your donations and help, we will be able to reach even more children and families across the globe.
In January, I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to travel to Antigua, Guatemala for a school trip as part of a program called Janterm. I had the chance to visit two different schools, build 3 houses for families in need, and visit two healthcare clinics that opened my eyes to how different life was only a few miles away from home. Despite their difficult living conditions, what stood out to me the most about my trip was how welcoming and loving the people in Guatemala are. After building such incredible relationships with the people I worked with, I knew that I needed to do something more to help. I immediatly went home and began collecting donations that I then sent back down to Guatemala with my school's summer program to Guatemala. I am so happy to announce that we have recently formed a partnership with a club in Guatemala called Antigua SF7. It is such an incredible feeling to continue making a difference even after the trip ended and I cannot wait to see the amazing things we do in the near future with your help!
When I started Kicks For A Kause a few years back, I began to research places where I felt my donations could make the largest impact. As a result of this research, I came into contact with a man named Nyowo Scott, the head of an organization called Nyowoskillz that sends soccer gear to Liberia, Africa. Over the past few years I have sent tons and tons of gear to Liberia, and will never forget the first time I saw a pair of my soccer cleats on a child who would have otherwise been barefoot playing on a dirt field. This feeling is what inspired me to continue my work and to spread to other countries in Africa as well. A few months later I came into contact with another man, whose son goes to my school and who grew up in Kenya. After speaking with him multiple times I decided he would be a great fit for Kicks For A Kause's mission, and we began sending loads of soccer gear there as well. I have had the opportunity to witness the incredible impact our work has on many families in Africa and I can promise you that any donations you have will make a HUGE difference there!
Haiti & the usa
Although I was completely set on sending all my gear to Africa when I started Kicks For A Kause, I met a man named Coach Lu who sends gear to Haiti and he completely changed my mind. He talked to me about how incredible his experiences had been taking gear to Haiti and how much he felt our donations could help him. Coach Lu works through an organization in the Atlanta area called City of Refuge that I had previously worked with during my time with the National Charity League (NCL). He works with a club team both in Atlanta and in Haiti, which immediately caught my attention. This relationship between my hometown and somewhere in desperate need of equipment was too great of an opportunity to turn down. A few years later we are proud to announce that our relationship with Coach Lu and the City of Refuge is stronger than ever!
